Week 3 Live Judges Scores

We have the "best year of your life" episode (I think i'm the only person in the country that hates it!) and Robin Roberts as a guest judge (I like her).

Breaking: Billy Dee can't dance tonight!

James Maslow and Peta Murgatroyd - Jive - 9/9/9/9=36

Here's Billy Dee - his doctors won't let him dance anymore (bad back).  Oh well, maybe Sean Avery didn't need to go home?

Nene and Tony Dovolani - Rumba - 8/7/8/8 - 31

Cody Simpson and Witney Carson - Jazz - 9/8/9/9 - 35

Danica McKellar and Valentin Chmerkovskiy - Contemporary - 9/9/9/9 - 36

Drew Carey and Cheryl Burke - Waltz - 7/7/8/8 - 30

Meryl Davis and Maksim Chmerkovskiy - Foxtrot - 10/9/10/10 - 39

Amy Purdy and Derek Hough - Contemporary - 9/9/9/9 - 36

Charlie White and Sharna Burgess - Jive - 9/9/9/9 - 36

Candace Cameron Bure and Mark Ballas - Jive - 8/8/8/8 - 32

So, assuming someone gets voted off next week, NeNe and Drew are most at risk.

Also, it's the switch up - next week (only) every celebrity will change partners!

Week 2 Live Judges Scores and Eliminations!

The judges' scores from last week are being combined with last week's viewers' votes and TWO couples will be sent home this week.

Also, they are not saying when during the show the couples will find out.

Another elimination break.  Charlie/Sharna and James/Peta are safe.

Well this was a manic episode.  Two eliminations and eleven competitive dances.

Til next week!

Season 18 Opening Night Live Scores

It's season 18 of a much reduced Dancing with the Stars.  Will the changes work?  I still don't like the scoring system (it's now the judges scores and viewers votes for the same week are added together and the lowest couple is released the week after) but we'll see how the rest goes!

Here are the judges scores:

NeNe Leakes and Tony Dovolani - Cha Cha Cha - 7/7/7=21
James Maslow and Peta Murgatroyd - Foxtrot - 7/7/7=21
Danica McKellar and Valentin Chmerkovskiy - Foxtrot - 8/8/8=24
Sean Avery and Karina Smirnoff - Contemporary - 7/6/7=20
Billy Dee Williams and Emma Slater - Cha Cha Cha - 5/5/5=15
Meryl Davis and Maksim Chmerkovskiy - Cha Cha Cha - 8/8/8=24
Candace Cameron Bure and Mark Ballas - Contemporary - 9/8/8=25
Cody Simpson and Witney Carson - Cha Cha Cha - 7/7/8=22
Drew Carey and Cheryl Burke - Foxtrot - 7/7/7=21
Amy Purdy and Derek Hough - Cha Cha Cha - 8/8/8=24
Diana Nyad and Henry Byalikov - Foxtrot - 6/6/6=18
Charlie White and Sharna Burgess - Contemporary - 9/9/9=27

The first couple to leave will be announced next Monday.

Season 18 Line Up

The stars in season 18 of DWTS are at once more well know but lesser celebrities than previous seasons.

I actually think one of the great things about the show is getting to know stars in areas outside of what you nornally like.  I'm thinking of people like Ty Murray, Mark Cuban, Albert Reed, Brooke Burke etc.  I'm not saying I liked them, I just enjoyed getting to know them.

This season I know everyone apart from the skateboarder and the Big Time Rusher.  The rest are, shall we say, past their prime, or just going with the flow.

Having said all that you never know - it might be the best season ever!

Here are the couples:

Sean Avery - ex-hockey player - and Karina Smirnoff
Actress Candice Cameron Bure and Mark Ballas
Price Is Right host Drew Carey and Cheryl Burke
Skater Meryl Davis and Maksim Chmerkovskiy
Reality star NeNe Leakes and Tony Dovolani
BTRer James Maslow and Peta Murgatroyd
Actress Danica McKellar and Valentin Chmerkovskiy
Swimmer Diana Nyad and Henry Byalikov
Snowboarder Amy Purdy and Derek Hough
Skater Charlie White and Sharna Burgess
Star Wars Star Billy Dee Williams and Emma Slater
Pop star Cody Simpson and Witney Carson

Is Sean Avery joining 'Dancing With the Stars'?

I'm not a hockey fan and I've never heard of the guy (I'm sure he's very nice) but it's good to get different sports on the show.

New York Post: Sean Avery is joining the cast of "Dancing With the Stars," sources exclusively tell Page Six. The former Rangers star has been spotted working out in preparation for the show...:http://pge.sx/1bNcQuo

Season 17 Starts!

Here we are in the 17th season of Dancing with the Stars!

After some ratings problems the producers have made some changes that include only having one show per week.

This season's cast is interesting, with the women being particularly strong.  I'm not holding out much hope on how the voting is going to work, but we shall see!

Tom just mentioned that "how you vote tonight affects who goes home next week".  I hope they don't add this weeks votes to next weeks judges scores!

To the scores:

Brant Daugherty and Peta Murgatroyd - Cha Cha Cha - 7/8/7 = 22

I looked up the voting rules.  This week's viewers votes are added to next week's judges' scores.  That's just silly and was the only problem with the first season.

So I think I'll give this week a miss and how things go.

Sorry!
