The Situation Will have Less Than a Week to Learn His DWTS Moves!

44041, LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA - Thursday August 26 2010. Dancing With The Stars celebrity dancer Karina Smirnoff enjoys some down time reading OK magazine and marvels at the abdominal muscles of Jersey Shore star Mike The Situation Sorrentino, who is rumored to be one of the contestants on next season's show. Photograph; Anthony, PacificCoastNews.comKarina Smirnoff has been sitting around, twiddling her thumbs (well maybe not), waiting for Mike "The Situation" Sorrentino to turn up to dance practice.

Well, now she knows when he's coming!  She tweeted this on Wednesday:
The latest word on @ItsTheSituation is that we r starting to rehearse early next week! Yay! So excited! Finally!!!!
Given that the show starts September 20th that means they will have at most 6 days of practice!

Obviously Mike is fit (and abdominal strength is an important part of dancing!) but he has very little time to learn the basics.

I suspect he'll have a reasonably large fan base so may not be at risk early on, but it does seem a little unfair to Karina.

John Stamos Approached to Appear on Dancing With The Stars

The opening night party for the Roundabout Theatre Company's production of 'By Bye Birdie' New York
In a recent interview with People Magazine, Karina Smirnoff revealed that John Stamos had been approached by the producers of Dancing with the Stars but had turned them down.

She also revealed she really wanted him to be her partner.
“I wanted him to be my celebrity partner. He finished Bye Bye Birdie on Broadway and he has had enough time to rest.”
John told her that he needed a rest after finishing the show in November.  But she thinks that's plenty of rest!
“I am a workaholic and think he needs to dance with me,” she tells PEOPLE. “I love 12 to 14 hour days of dancing, and I want to do it with John. He could be a great dancer.”

John Stamos would certainly balance out the Pamela Anderson effect!
