Confirmed: Derek Hough to miss Season 12 of DWTS

Confirming previous rumors, Access Hollywood is reporting that Derek will take time off DWTS to make a movie!

Derek stars with Korean singer BoA (pictured) for 'Cobu 3D' - about two dancers embroiled in a “Romeo & Juliet”-esque romance set in a world of two rival dance clubs.

“DWTS executive producer Conrad Green said “We wish Derek the best as he takes time off from ‘Dancing With the Stars’ to pursue his film career and look forward to having him return to the show in the Fall."

It'll certainly feel different without him!

The Daily Mirror newspaper in the UK is reporting that Derek Hough has decided to quit DWTS so he can spend some time with Cheryl Cole. Here's the link:

Obviously this would be huge news for DWTS if it's true. As well as being an excellent dancer and choreographer, he has won the thing three times and has a significant fan base.

Cheryl has moved to the US to appear on the US version of the Simon Cowell owned hit show X-Factor. Derek recently helped her choose somewhere to live.

Well, it might give someone else the chance to win!
