Season 17 Starts!

Here we are in the 17th season of Dancing with the Stars!

After some ratings problems the producers have made some changes that include only having one show per week.

This season's cast is interesting, with the women being particularly strong.  I'm not holding out much hope on how the voting is going to work, but we shall see!

Tom just mentioned that "how you vote tonight affects who goes home next week".  I hope they don't add this weeks votes to next weeks judges scores!

To the scores:

Brant Daugherty and Peta Murgatroyd - Cha Cha Cha - 7/8/7 = 22

I looked up the voting rules.  This week's viewers votes are added to next week's judges' scores.  That's just silly and was the only problem with the first season.

So I think I'll give this week a miss and how things go.

Sorry!

Don't They Want Us To Get Excited?

The semi-annual gossip-fest of who's going to be on the next season of DWTS has been intensely quiet this time around.  Whilst I understand the need for secrecy I do think throwing us a bone or two wold keep interest up.

Add to that the fact that the cast announcement will be made on September 4th on GMA, only 12 days before the Sept 16 premier it really seems they are trying to shrink the show, I assume to make it more exciting when things actually happen.

I can't say I'm raring to go yet (although its great that Derek and possibly Maks will be back.)

Hopefully that will change!

Live Blog of the DWTS Final Results Show!

Well, apparently the Results Show is canned for next season so this may be the last! (I was never a fan.)

The final four couples:

The current standing are:

Zendaya/Val - 65
Kellie/Derek - 64
Aly/Mark - 61
Jacoby/Karina - 56

Jacoby seems to be a long shot but the others are in with a chance.

Tonight is lots of filler, an Instant Dance and the Champions are revealed!

We start off with a group dance featuring all our celebs of course.

And now we have the encore dance chosen via Twitter.  Even though Zendaya was a trending topic on Twitter Kellie and Derek actually won. I agree it was the best dance but I am surprised.  A good sign for Kellie!

We are about to find out the fourth place couple.  It's Aly and Mark!

Aly was fantastic, a real pleasure.

That leaves Jacoby, Kellie and Zendaya who will do an Instant dance. They will have 60 minutes to prepare.

Now they're making poor Aly dance in a tribute to the women in the final.

And here is Wynonna singing.  And yes, she's much better at singing than dancing?

Lisa Vanderpump starts a foxtrot with Gleb but finishes with Len - very cute.

Dorothy Hamill segment - Dorothy had to withdraw and Tristan can't dance in the final! So Dorothy is dancing a Viennese Waltz with Henry.  And they are joined by Kristi Yamaguchi and Sasha! Never saw that coming!

Andy Dick returns with Sharna to dance to Poker Face.  I enjoyed him.

Now we have PSY.  That was fun!

Jacoby and Karina will be dancing salsa by the way.

Kellie and Derek have the jive.

Zendaya and Val also have the jive.

Here's Pitbull.  I discover Pitbull through DWTS and I quite like him, but it's just like the PSY routine we just saw!  Big group number.

The Instant Dances:

Jacoby and Karina - Salsa - Len said he was full of fun, a breath of fresh air; Bruno felt he had the power; Carrie Ann said it was a dance of a champion - 10/10/10=30, total 86

Kellie and Derek - Jive - Bruno said "Goodness Gracious Great Balls Of Fire", Carrie Ann loves watching them, Len said she was awesome - 10/10/10=30, total 94

Zendaya and Val - Jive - Carrie Ann is going to miss them, Len said she was a star and Bruno said "Twinkle Twinkle Little Star" - 10/10/10=30, total 95

We now find out who is in third place....

It's Jacoby and Karina.  He's a funny guy, a strange guy, good dancer.

Here we go...

Kellie and Derek are the Champions!  Zendaya and Val were second.

DWTS Finals Live Blog!

It's been a long but enjoyable season!

The remaining celebrities are Jacoby Jones, Aly Raisman, Zendaya Coleman and Kellie Pickler.

Each couple dances up to four times - judges' choice, Cha Cha Cha relay round and Instant Dance.

Let's get started!

First off its the judges' choice.

Jacoby and Karina - Jive - pretty good, seemed a bit subdued to me - Len thought he was getting better (bit late, it's the final!), Bruno called Len Gandalf, Carrie Ann thought he was a bit flat footed - 9/9/9=27

Aly and Mark - Samba - Bruno called Aly scrumptious, Carrie Ann loved it, Len saw improvement - 9/9/10=28

Kellie and Derek - Quickstep - fantastic, thoroughly enjoyable; Len said it was excitement, Bruno said that technically it was a tour de force, Carrie Ann said thank you - 10/10/10=30

Zendaya and Val - Samba - Carrie Ann said it was magical, Len thought she'd only scratched the surface of her talent, Bruno said she just keeps getting better - 10/10/10=30

Next is the Cha Cha Cha relay - each couple dances a portion of the song. The best couple gets 5pts, second is 4, third is 3 and fourth is 2.

Len said these couples are the four that should be in the finals.  Bruno went along and commented on everyone. Carrie Ann said it was hard, it was so diverse.

The Relay Scores:

Fourth - Jacoby - 2
Third - Aly - 3
Second - Kellie - 4
First - Zendaya - 5

Next up is the Supersize Freestyle.  Each couple can have extra dancers, props etc etc.

Jacoby and Karina - Un homage de New Orleans - Len said it was like his 108 yard touchdown, Bruno loved it, Carrie Ann thought it was a good choice for him - 9/9/9=27, total = 56

Aly and Mark - highlighting Aly's strengths - (I didn't really get the stripper poles) - Bruno said they took an incredible risk, Carrie Ann said it was fun, Len said she was Alexandra the Great - 10/10/10=30, total = 61

Kellie and Derek - From the mind of Derek - Stunning. Carrie Ann said it was one of the most beautiful things she's ever seen, Len gave a standing ovation, Bruno said it was spell-binding - 10/10/10=30, total = 64

Zendaya and Val - Cha Cha Cha to Contemporary to Hip Hop - seemed to finish a little early; Len babbled a bit, Bruno babbled of course, Carrie Ann didn't really say much - 10/10/10=30, total = 65

So Jacoby is at a bit of a disadvantage, the other three are neck and neck.

Tomorrow sees the instant dance, and the winner of Season 16 of Dancing with the Stars will be crowned!

Semi Finals Results Show Live Blog

It's the 300th show!  I'd forgotten that!  Eight years of sparkly stuff.  Wow.

So we have five couples left and one, probably Ingo and Kym, will be eliminated!

Starting off with a pro dance of course!  Some old favorites there - hi Louis!

The first couple in the finals is....Jacoby and Karina.  Hey they just bleeped him!

The encore dance is Kellie and Derek's Argentine Tango.  Here's one I prepared earlier:

Here is a young girl who just beat the World record for pirouettes.  She is dancing with four pros, including her favorite Chelsie Hightower.  Lots of spins going on here.

The Wanted sang a tune that is to highlight www.childhungerendshere.com - highlighting child hunger in America.

Now it's Avril Lavigne.  she hasn't aged much but she seems to be leaning towards country.

This show is why they should go to one night.  The entertainment is top notch but I want to know results!

Zendaya and Kellie are up!

Kellie and Derek are in the finals!

Zendaya is in jeopardy! She joins Aly and Ingo in the final three.

Gleb and Sharna are doing a dance now.

Ingo and Aly are up.

Ingo in jeopardy, Aly safe.

Zendaya/Val and Ingo/Kym are onstage.  These are not necessarily the bottom two couples says Brooke.

Ingo Rademacher and Kym Johnson have been eliminated.

Ingo seems like a great guy, lasted longer than perhaps he should have.  Peanut is great!

Final next week.  See you then!

DWTS Live Blog from the Semi Finals

I'm off to a slow start this week - the dog wanted to do her business!  Came in through Kellie and Derek's tango - and the bit I saw looked great!

Each of the couples dances twice tonight - the second time it's the dance the Twitterers chose last week.

First Round

Kellie and Derek - Tango - the judges loved it - 10/10/10=30

Ingo and Kym - Samba - Bruno could tell they worked hard, Carrie Ann thought it was sloppy in parts, Len thought they did a good job with a difficult dance - 8/8/8=24

Aly and Mark - Rumba - a lovely dance, loved by the judges, Carrie Ann in particular - 10/10/10=30

Jacoby and Karina - Tango - Bruno thought it was his best performance ever, Carrie Ann got all het up and shook her hair a lot - 10/10/10=30

Zendaya and Val - Quickstep - Bruno loved it but pointed out a couple of problems, Carrie Ann thought it was a mess, Len thought it was a bit too fast - 8/8/9=25

Second round

This round features the dances chosen by Twitter.

Kellie and Derek - Flamenco - Len said her talent was huge, Bruno said she tightened up at times, 9/10/9=28+30=60

Ingo and Kym - Charleston -  Bruno thought it was fun, Carrie Ann said it was fun, Len said his was his best dance of the season - 9/9/9=27+24=51

Aly and Mark - Afrojazz - Carrie Ann said it was fantastic, Len loved it, Bruno said Aly was Queen of the Jungle - 10/9/10=29+30=59

Jacoby and Karina - Lindy Hop - High energy, full on, fabulous said Len; Bruno said he nailed it; Carrie Ann said he was the #1 entertainer of the season - 10/9/10=29+30=59

Zendaya and Val - Hip Hop - Bruno said it gave him chills, Carrie Ann thought Val did well, Len thought it was fantastic - 10/10/10=30+25=55

Ingo is at the bottom but he's not too far behind Zendaya, his problem is that he'd never maych her viewer votes!

Its the 300th episode tomorrow night - join us!

DWTS Live Blog - Week 8 Results Show

USix couples are left, four will be in the final so the stars who leave this week and next lose out big time!

Zendaya's Salsa with Val and Gleb has been chosen as the encore dance.  Well deserved but so was Kellie's Paso - the one where Len had his melt down.  The worst one yet!

Sean Lowe finished with 42 points, Ingo 48 and Jacoby rounded out the bottom 3 with 52.  So Sean needs a lot of votes!

All the couples are on stage.

Ingo and Kym are through!

Kellie and Derek are in jeopardy.  Huh? I know they got lots of votes! I think the producers are trying to milk Lens little tantrum.

Zendaya and Jacoby are on stage.

Zendaya and Val are in the semis.

Jacoby and Karina are in jeopardy.

Ooh, some hidden mike of the judges discussing Kellie and Derek's Paso.  Len actually said it was as good as Sean's dance!

Jason Derullo is now pretending to sing a song.

Here are the results of the Twitter exercise on choosing who dances what next week:

Zendaya/ Val - Hip Hop (duh)
Jacoby/Karina - Lindy Hop
Aly/Mark - Afro Jazz
Kellie/Derek - Flamenco
Sean/Peta - Disco
Ingo/Kym -Charleston

Nothing surprising there, Zendaya owns Twitter.

Now a segment on Peanut, Ingo's son. Sweet.

So here's Derek Hough and Jaime Goodwin dancing in a little room!  The room is rotating but the camera is still and it looks like they are dancing on the ceiling, walls etc. Very clever of course. Really quite amazing!

So Aly and Sean are up.  I suspect Aly will go through and Sean will be in jeopardy.

And I was right.

So the final three are Sean/Peta, Jacoby/Karina and Kellie/Derek.

Kellie and Derek are (of course) through to the semis.

Those left are not the bottom 2 - interesting!

Sean Lowe and Peta Murgatroyd have been eliminated.  Although a little stiff, Sean does seem to have a great sense of humor.  He didn't warm me to The Bachelor though.

Semis next week!

DWTS Live Blog Week 8 - Trio Night

We're without Andy Dick this week (note I didn't do a dick joke) so were down to the "good" dancers.

This week the dancers perform twice - once on their own, and once with a pro (the third wheel/stool) to enhance the dance and highlight the celebrities strengths. Anyway, it was fun last season.

The first round:

Zendaya and Val - Foxtrot - Len loved it, Bruno loved it, Carrie Ann thought it was the most beautiful hold she'd ever seen - 9/10/9=28

Sean and Peta - Tango - Bruno said he started well but..., Carrie Ann thought it was OK, Len said it was powerful but ended saying it was ugly - 7/7/7=21

Jacoby and Karina - Viennese Waltz - Carrie Ann loved the posture and grace, Len and Jacoby's Mom thought it was a fantastic, Bruno conservatively agreed - 9/9/9=27

Ingo and Kym - Foxtrot - Len liked the musicality and smoothness, Bruno that it was a little Fred Flinstone occasionally, Carrie Ann felt it was his best posture of the season - 8/8/8=24

Kellie and Derek - Viennese Waltz - Bruno thought Kellie was a Queen tonight (hehe), Carrie Ann liked it, Len thought it was technically great - 9/9/10=28

Aly and Mark - Argentine Tango - Carrie Ann didn't like the lifts, Len thought it was terrific, Bruno thought she was good at being bad - 9/10/10=29

The second round is the Trio Round:

Zendaya and Val with Gleb - Salsa - Len said the boys made Zendaya a star, Bruno thought it was sizzling, dazzling, amazing, Carrie Ann thought she was the queen of the salsa - 10/10/10=30

Sean and Peta with Sharna - Jazz - Bruno wished he hadn't looked at his feet, Carrie Ann thought he got out of routine a little too much, Len thought he attacked it too hard - 7/7/7=21

Jacoby and Karina with Cheryl - Paso Doble - Carrie Ann thought it needed more finesse, Len thought it was a bull ring and he was a contender, Bruno thrust his hips around - 8/9/8=25

Ingo and Kym with Lindsay - Jive - Len thought it was Full On, Bruno thought his energy was great, Carrie Ann said it was heart and fun - 8/8/8=24

Kellie and Derek with Tristan - Paso Doble - Masterpiece Theater said Bruno, Carrie Ann hugged Keelie, Bruno hugged Derek, Len thought it was a sham - too many flashing lights - 10/7/10=27

Aly and Mark with Henry - Jive - Carrie Ann though it was fantastic apart from being a little flat footed sometimes, Len thought they were great, Bruno liked the way she played a character - 9/9/9=27

To summarize the total scores:

Zendaya 58
Ally 56
Kellie 55
Jacoby 52
Ingo 48
Sean 42

Sean has the biggest hill to climb!

Live Blog of the DWTS Latin Results Show

So, here we are. After last night's immune challenge and a dance off challenge we are left with six couples.

Kellie and Derek have immunity as they had the highest score (tied with Aly/Mark but they had the best record over the whole season).

The other six are spread out because of the dance offs (Zendaya, Aly and Ingo got three extra points) which all means Andy Dick is MILES behind.

There has been a lot of online sentiment to keep him but will it be enough? We shall see!

Starting off with a lovely little number from the Troupe.

After the highlights we have Michael Bublé singing Dance With Me.

The Encore Dance is Aly and Mark with their Salsa. Very good.

First results. Zendaya and Jacoby are up.

Zendaya and Val are safe.

Jacoby and Karina are in jeopardy! (Tom says they are in jeopardy from his Mom).

Next results - Aly and Ingo.

Aly and Mark are safe.

Ingo and Kym are in jeopardy.

Andy and Sean left!

The Camden Sophisticated Sisters - a lovely drill team that use dance to make a difference in their lives.

A segment on Adrienne Haslett (sp?) , a professional dancer who lost her foot in the Boston Marathon explosion. A terrible thing to happen. She seems very brave and very nice. DWTS plans to follow her over time until she dances on the show.

Alison and Twitch dance to Lindsey Stirling on violin. This is really most excellent. Lots of swirling, hard drumming and a fire on stage!

Pro dance. All the women seem to have a copy of Peta's wig...

Sean and Andy now up.

Sean and Peta are safe.

Andy and Sharna are in jeopardy. They join Jacoby/Karina and Ingo/Kym.

Jacoby and Karina are safe.

Andy Dick and Sharna Burgess have been eliminated. It seemed that the producers wanted to get rid of Andy. Despite crying too much he's been the perfect competitor - not very good, getting better every week, entertaining and enjoying himself.

Next week the couples dance twice - the second being a Trio Dance where they are joined by a Pro.

Live Blog of Latin Night - Week 7

Welcome to Latin night!

In order to keep the DWTS fans on their toes the producers have added a rather strange scoring system this week.

After all the couples first dance, the couple with the highest score will get immunity.

No, not diplomatic immunity.

That means they are automatically through to next week.

The other couples then have a dance-off to score more judges points.

Then we can vote for our favorite of the six couples.

I'm sure it makes sense.

To add to the Latin-ness Juanez will be performing live.

The couples..

Jacoby and Karina - Salsa - Len thought it was fabulous (after being heckled by Jacoby's mom), Bruno talked about a kitchen mixer and Carrie Ann said he farts salsa (sic) - 9/9/9=27

Ingo and Kym - Rumba - Bruno didn't like the hip action, Carrie Ann didn't they think they were connected, Len felt they had good lines - 7/8/7=22

Kellie and Derek - Samba - Carrie Ann thought they were too good (still not sure about that), Len and Bruno loved it - 9/10/10=29

Andy and Sharna - Rumba - Len said he was enthusiastic, Bruno wanted to forget it, Carrie Ann said he touched her - 5/6/6=17

Aly and Mark (NOT Henry) - Salsa - Bruno said lots of things and I think he loved it, Carrie Ann said she loved it, Len said fantastict - 10/9/10=29

Sean and Peta - Rumba - Carrie Ann was impressed, Len said it was like a match: Peta was hot, Sean was wooden, Bruno said it was much better - 8/8/8=24

Zendaya and Val - Paso Doble - (oh my) - Len sounded like Bruno, Bruno particularly liked the flamenco beginning, Carrie Ann thought it was beautiful but something about something - 9/9/9=27

Kellie and Derek have immunity due to the fact they have a higher cumulative score for the season.

Aly and Mark dance the Cha Cha Cha against Andy and Sharna - Aly and Mark won meaning they get an extra three points

Zendaya/Val jive against Jacoby/Karina - very good! - Zendaya and Val get three extra points!

Sean/Peta rumba against Ingo/Kym - Ingo and Kym get three extra points

So summarizing:

Kellie - immune
Aly - 32
Zendaya - 30
Jacoby - 27
Ingo - 25
Sean - 24
Andy - 17

Andy needs votes!

Live From The DWTS Results Show On My TV

Couldn't make it to the studios tonight (and I never have before either) but here's what's happening on the results show.

Victor was at the bottom of the judges' scores, with Andy and Jacoby above him. Anything could happen but I think Victor must be favorite to go.

Kicking off with Olly Murs from the UK and a group dance from the pros. (It was pretty good.)

First two celebs up are Aly and Kellie.

Kellie and Derek safe.

Aly and Mark are also safe.

Some highlights from the stars singing karaoke to Stevie Wonder songs, the musicians were good of course, but everyone seemed to have fun.

The encore of the team dance was chosen via Twitter and, of course, Team Paso won because thats the team Zendaya is on. And she has LOTS of fans on Twitter.

More results - Zendaya & Sean.

Zendaya safe, duh.

Sean and Peta are in jeopardy.

Interesting segment on the supporting cast of DWTS.

Will.I.Am. Very good, apart from the MC Hammer pants.

Victor and Ingo are up.

Victor and Lindsay are in jeopardy.

Ingo and Kym are safe.

The Macy's Stars of Dance was a load of dancers in black jackets with red rectangles on the back, moving and coordinating across the floor and never hitting each other. It was more performance art than dance. It was excellent.

Next week is Latin night and Henry Byalikov choreographed a group dance in anticipation - it was not...

Jacoby and Andy are up.

Andy and Sharna join Sean/Peta and Victor/Lindsay in the final three.

Andy and Sharna are safe!

The actual bottom two are Sean and Victor.

Victor Ortiz and Lindsay Arnold have been eliminated.

Victor had the lowest score and didn't seem happy. A really nice guy (for someone who hits people for a living), he was a pleasure.

Live Reporting - DWTS and Stevie Wonder

Well, "reporting" is a bit over the top but I'll keep you up with the scores.

So, eight couples, two team dances and Stevie Wonder - it's going to be good!

Started off with a medley and a group dance choreographed by Sasha Farber

Zendaya and Val - Cha Cha Cha - Do I Do - Len loved it, Bruno thought it was gob smacking gorgeous and Carrie Ann was blown away - 10/9/10=29

Andy and Sharna - Samba - Signed, Sealed, Delivered - Bruno didn't think he made it to Brazil, Carrie Ann wants him to get better, Len told him to have fun - 6/6/6=18

Sean and Peta - Samba - I Wish - Carrie Ann didn't like his musicality, Len thought it was riddled with mistakes, Bruno thought he could get a job as a stripper at least - 7/7/7=21

Aly and Mark - Foxtrot - Isn't She Lovely - Len thought her bottom stuck out a little but overall he thought it was a foxy foxtrot, Bruno complemented her on her consistency but felt she needed to keep her bum in, Carrie Ann thought she was heading toward perfection - 9/9/9=27

Ingo and Kym - Tango - Uptight - Bruno thought he had beautiful lines, Carrie Ann sang a bit and thought he was erect, Len said Bingo Ingo (I wish he'd thought it) - 8/8/8=24

Kellie and Derek - Quickstep - Part Time Lover - Carrie Ann said perfect a lot but said they lost hold, Len said he told the truth and said he thought it was the best dance he'd seen, Bruno said sumptuous - 9/10/10=29

Victor and Lindsay - Rumba - I Just Called To Say I Love You - Len was nice, Bruno thought it looked like an airline safety drill, Carrie Ann thought there was no hip action and talked about chemistry - 6/6/6=18

Jacoby and Karina - Quickstep - For Once In My Life - Bruno got whiplash, Carrie Ann liked it, Len didn't like it - 8/7/8=23

A quick interlude for Ma Cherie Amour by Mr Wonder.

And now I the team dances (each score added to couple's score)

Team Paso are first and the men are all shirtless - Jacoby, Val, Victor and Ingo (plus female partners) - Higher Ground - Len thought it was a spirited effort, Bruno thought it was like Wrestlemania, Carrie Ann thought it was sloppy - 7/8/7=22

Team Samba - Sean, Aly, Kellie and Andy and partners - Superstition - Even Andy managed to keep in sync says Bruno, Unity said Carrie Ann, Tight said Len - 8/9/8=25

Final scores:

Zendaya/Val - 51
Andy/Sharna - 43
Sean/Peta - 46
Aly/Mark - 52
Ingo/Kym - 46
Kellie/Derek - 54
Victor/Lindsay - 40
Jacoby/Karina - 45

I guess Victor is in the most jeopardy!

Live DWTS Blog: Who is going to be pushed to the side by side?

Week 5 results show and it's very much live.

The bottom four celebs are DL and Dick with 18, and Ingo and Victor with 21. I guess it'll be one of them, but you never know!

Starting off with a hyper weird pro dance. Lasers, motor bike helmets, aliens and what looks like a big pile of dinosaur poop. Choreographed by Mark and Derek. There you go.

The first couple safe is... Kellie and Derek!

The first couple in jeopardy is Ingo and Kym!

After a series of little sketches (which was quite enjoyable, the highlight being Sean giving Tristan a rose...) we come to the spotlight dance. Despite Zendaya getting 10s the judges chose the jive by Jacoby and Karina with Maks and Anna. It was as good as the night before.

Zendaya and Val are safe! Uh, duh...

Victor and Lindsay are in jeopardy. That means one of the comedians won't be in the bottom three!

The Band Perry sing one of their very pleasant tunes, while Tristan and Witney dance along.

A video segment of Len philosophizing. Amusing.

The next couple who is safe is Jacoby and Karina.

Aly and Mark are safe.

Kellie and Zendaya are the team captains for next week.

And here's Selena Gomez. Needs to work on her lip syncing. A pretty generic song with generic dancing. Shame, I like her normally.

Back to results!

Sean and Peta are safe.

Also coming back are Andy and Sharna.

Bottom three are DL, Victor and Ingo.

The next couple still in is Ingo and Kym.

Tom confirms that Victor/Lindsay and DL/Cheryl are the bottom couples overall.

DL Hughley and Cheryl Burke have been eliminated. DL can't dance but he warmed to it and was probably getting into it just as he leaves.

Next week is Stevie Wonder week plus a team dance!

Week Five Live - Attack Of The Pros!

Really strange setup this week - Len's Side By Side Challenge. Each couple gets a pro couple. The pro couple start on their own, then the couples dance the same steps together, then we finish with the celebrity and their partner.

I'm sure it'll become clear. I hope.

Some old celebs are back (well, not old, just not in this season) notably Maks is back!

We start off with a mega group dance - the competing couples plus the returning pros plus the troupe. Very entertaining (choreographed by Lacey Schwimmer.)

Let get started!

Ingo Rademacher and Kym Johnson - Cha Cha Cha - with Tony Dovolani & Emma Slater - Len thought he needs a little bit more care; Bruno thought his hip action was a bit rigid; Carrie Ann thought below the belt needs a little work - 7/7/7=21

Jacoby Jones and Karina Smirnoff - Jive - with Maksim Chmerkovskiy & Anna Trebunskaya - Bruno thought Jacoby and Maks had testosterone pouring out from everywhere; Carrie Ann thought he hammered the jive; Len said he'd never get an 9 with those feet - 9/8/9=26

Victor Ortiz and Lindsay Arnold - Viennese Waltz - with Tristan MacManus and Emma Slater - Carrie Ann thought he channeled his emotions well; Len thought is was better than last week; Bruno thought he was erect (sic) - 7/7/7=21

Alexandra Raisman and Mark Ballas - Samba - Whitney Carson & Tony Dovolani - Len thought Aly's bottom is the tops; Bruno thought she had a strong technique; Carrie Ann mentioned "sex kitten" - 8/8/9=25

Sean Lowe and Peta Murgatroyd - Quickstep - with Tristan MacManus & Chelsie Hightower - Bruno thought he had turned into a swan; Bold and Beautiful said Carrie Ann; Len said it was his best dance yet - 8/8/8=24

Kellie Pickler and Derek Hough - Foxtrot - Anna Trebunskaya & Henry Bialikov - Carrie Ann thought is was fabulous; Len claimed she put the Oo in Smooth; Bruno mentioned Jean Harlow - 9/9/9=27

DL Hughley and Cheryl Burke - Tango - Sasha Farber and Chelsie Hightower - Len didn't think it had much snap; Bruno thought he had lots of aggression and disdain; Carrie Ann said he was too bouncy - 6/6/6=18

Zendaya Coleman and Valentin Chmerkovskiy - Argentine Tango - Anna Trebunskaya & Maksim Chmerkovskiy - Bruno swept his arms a lot (he liked it); Carrie Ann loved it; Len babbled on about lemon tart - 10/9/10=29

Andy Dick and Sharna Burgess - Paso Doble - with Sasha Farber and Emma Slater - Carrie Ann liked his entrance (he came in on a zip line); Len enjoyed watching it; Bruno said it was undescribable (sic) - 6/6/6=18

So tomorrow is the results show with Selena Gomez and the Band Perry. I guess it's DL or Andy in the most jeopardy - what do you think?

Live From "Best Year" Results Show.

Real life got in the way last night so I wasn't able to report on the performances. But I'm live in my living room tonight!

So, Lisa and Victor were at the bottom with 18, then Sean with 20 and then DL and Andy with 21. The loser must come from them!

I'm gonna guess Sean.

We kick off with the female pros group dance - better than the men's from last week I think.

The first couple safe is Aly and Mark!

And the next safe couple is Zendaya and Val.

The third safe couple is Kellie and Derek! Getting the obvious ones out of the way!

Ingo and Kym are also safe! Phew, four couples safe already!

Aly and Mark were chosen by the judges for the Spotlight Dance. Very nice.

More results - Jacoby and Karina are safe.

Sean and Peta are also safe.

Brad Paisley sings a tune.

Now we have the AT&T Spotlight dance - Derek Hough with a lovely 17 year old who is legally blind and can only see 5 feet in front of her. Looking forward to this. Very lovely. I particularly liked how Derek took a supporting role.

So now it's Andrea Bocelli and Jennifer Lopez singing a duet, Val and Anna Trebunskaya on the dance floor.

The last four celebs are up - Lisa Vanderkamp, Andy Dick, Victor Ortiz and DL Hughley.

DL is safe. We're down to the final 3.

Andy Dick is safe.

So, we have Lisa/Gleb and Victor/Lindsay as the final two couples.

Lisa Vanderpump and Gleb Savchenko have been eliminated. Lisa was ill this week so it's probably good to have a rest.

Next week each celebrity will do something with a returning pro. Not quite sure what that entails, but Tristan, Chelsie and Maks will be back!

Live From The Prom Night Results Show

I'm alive and it's the results show...

Well, I hope we have an elimination this time!

We were robbed of one last week when Dorothy Hamill was forced to withdraw on medical advice. The bottom two celebrities were Victor Ortiz and Lisa Vanderkamp - both were much better this week.

The bottom three celebs from last night were Wy, DL and Andy Dick, although I think Lisa might be at risk too.

Aha! Zendaya and Jacoby were crowned the prom queen and king, meaning they get an extra two points. Also, they are both safe!

Huey Lewis and the News...staples of proms everywhere.

And the spotlight dance was chosen by Bruno...and it was YMCA performed by Sean Lowe. Bruno joined in of course!

The next two celebs up to find out their fate are Kellie and DL.

Kellie and Derek are safe (of course).

DL looks ill. They played a clip of DL after the show - he was not happy - he felt the judges went too far. Len replied that he felt they had been nicer than normal.

It didn't matter- DL is safe!!!

The male pros (including the troupe) are doing a group number. It's very good of course but seems like filler.

Four celebs are up now - Victor, Lisa, Sean and Andy.

Sean and Peta are safe.

Lisa and Gleb are in jeopardy.

Victor and Lindsay are safe.

Andy and Sharna are in jeopardy.

We then had the Macy's Stars of Dance doing some very clever backwards and forwards dancing.

Now it's Demi Lovato singing her new single "Heart Attack". Pretty generic stuff.

Now Ingo, Wynonna and Aly find out their fate.

Aly and Mark are safe.

Ingo and Kym are safe.

So, Wynonna and Tony are in jeopardy and they are joined by Lisa/Gleb and Andy/Sharna.

Lisa and Gleb are safe - the other couples are the bottom two.

And Wynonna Judd and Tony Dovolani have been eliminated.

The lowest score, not very good dancing, but she has quite the sense of humor!

Story Week next week. The most memorable year of their lives.

Live from DWTS Prom Night Week

It's week 3 of season 16 of Dancing with the Stars. In a shock elimination last week, no one was eliminated. Dorothy Hamill withdrew due to injury though which was a real shame as she wasn't in the bottom two.

The bottom two couples were actually Lisa/Gleb and Victor/Lindsay so they'll have to do well this week!

Also this week, the male and female celebs who are voted Prom Queen and King on Twitter will get an extra two points!

We have started with a group dance highlighting each couple so you can choose your king/queen. It's pretty good actually.

So, on to the dances!

Aly Raisman and Mark Ballas - Viennese Waltz - 7/8/8=23 - lovely dance, I thought Aly's lines were a little off. Len did an April Fool and told her he didn't think she was any good. He's a laugh that Len. Bruno thought she was a great little actress (and said she needed to work on her frame, yay me!). Carrie Ann thought she went out of character a bit.

Andy Dick and Sharna Burgess - Cha Cha Cha - 6/6/6=18 - This was great entertainment. Sharna filled her outfit in an amazing way, but Andy really did perform well. The judges more or less agree with me.

Ingo Rademacher and Kym Johnson - Paso Doble - 7/7/7=21 - Ingo seemed a little heavy footed this week, but an Ok oerformance. Carrie Ann thought he was powerful but felt his core was kinda week. Len felt there was more to cheer than jeer.

Lisa Vanderpump and Gleb Savchenko - Viennese Waltz - 7/7/7=21- this was pretty good, she seemed to enjoy it. Len thought she had to work on her posture. Bruno thought she deflated sometimes. Carrie Ann said she liked to watch.

Kellie Pickler and Derek Hough - Jive - 8/9/8=25 - excellent. Although I forgot Kellie was there occasionally. The audience loved it. Bruno called it crisp and tight. Carrie Ann said it was ridiculously amazing. Len said ho ho ho.

Victor Ortiz and Lindsay Arnold - contemporary - 8/7/8=23 - very nice. Victor was more comfortable with the lifts and not so much with the expressive parts but he was pretty good. Carrie Ann was blown away. Len was pleasantly surprised. Bruno gave them a standing O.

DL Hughley and Cheryl Burke - Salsa - 6/5/5=16 - the man can't dance. The man doesn't like to dance. Kudos for trying. Len admired his spirit, little else. Bruno appreciated the effort but... Carrie Ann felt he'd improved (baby steps).

Jacoby Jones and Karina Smirnoff - Rumba - 8/8/8=24 - another testosterone-laden man getting in tough with their emotional side... Now he IS a dancer. Bruno felt he was smoldering. Carrie Ann said he had a credible artistry. Len couldn't believe it. It had quality, refinement..

Wynonna and Tony Dovolani - Samba - 5/5/5=15 - Wynonna was a little robotic and wasn't meant to be. Tony looked silly in his costume. I didn't like it. Carrie Ann thought the dance was a whisper. Len felt she didn't move. Bruno thought it was too sedated.

Sean Lowe and Oeta Murgatroyd - Cha Cha Cha - 7/7/7=21 - dancing to YMCA - ok, not brilliant but not bad. Len, Bruno and Carrie Ann liked it with caveats. Bruno wanted to do it with them.

Zendaya and Val Chmerkovskiy - Viennese Waltz - 8/8/8=24 - a pleasure to watch. Lovely dancing, choreography and music. Bruno said it was beautiful. Carrie Ann said it was good but the best is yet to come. Len babbled on about something.

So, there you have it. The bottom three are DL, Wynonna and Andy (I thought Andy was underscored). We'll find out who goes home tomorrow night. The guests include Huey Lewis and the News and Demi Lovato.

Live from the First DWTS Results Show of the Season!

Wow, my TV's so good it's like I'm there in person!

DL Hughley was the lowest scoring celeb, but it's never a done deal!

Started out with a great group number from the pros and the troupe. Quality as always!

All 12 couples are up.

The first couple safe is Ingo and Kym! Straight into it!

Sean and Peta are safe!

Wynonna and Tony join them as safe.

The first couple in jeopardy is Victor and Lindsay.

With no surprise to anyone Zendaya and Val got the most tweets for the encore dance. It was a top trend on twitter...

And it was pretty good (again).

Next up are Aly and Mark - and they're safe.

Here's DL...and he's SAFE!!!! Oh my. It must be Victor or Lisa who's going home.

Lisa and Gleb, despite her willingness to sleep with Len, they are in jeopardy.

Three more couples are up - Karina/Jacoby, Kellie/Derek, Zendaya/Val.

Zendaya is safe. Duh.

Kellie is safe. Double duh.

Jacoby is safe. Triple duh.

Josh Groban. He can carry a tune. Nice to see Dmitry Chaplin and Chelsie Hightower on the dance floor.

Two couples left - Dorothy/Tristan and Andy/Sharna.

Dorothy is safe.

Andy joins Lisa and Victor as the last three.

The next couple safe is Andy and Sharna.

And Dorothy and Tristan come out from behind the curtain. Dorothy is withdrawing from the show!

Her spine specialist advised against carrying on.

This means no one is eliminated (and we don't know who was bottom!) and Dorothy Hamill is leaving (just to be clear).

Awh.

See you next week - it's Prom Night!

Week 2 Live Blog/DL Hughley Farewell Dance

DL is going to have to do VERY well indeed to recover from his scores last week. It would be amazing if he did!

Last week's scores are combined with this week's.

So, straight into the couples, no messing around tonight!

Ingo Rademacher and Kym Johnson - Quickstep - 6/7/7=20 - He's a pretty good performer, and can dance too. The routine was little boring I think. Len was smiling. Bruno thought it was a bonanza of tricky steps. Carrie-Ann thought his frame was a problem. She and Len squabbled. Total = 40.

Dorothy Hamill and Tristan MacManus - Jive - 5/5/5=15 - Tristan has cool hair, Dorothy has an injury. Nice performance but am I the only one who thinks she's hesitant? Bruno thought she made lots of mistakes. Carrie Ann told her not to let fear in. Len thought it was a mess. Total=36.

Jacoby Jones and Karina Smirnoff - Jazz - 8/7/8=23 - cute kids in the preview, high performance dancing - he can't go wrong! He must be one of the favorites to win the whole thing. Carrie Ann said it was rocking and that Jacoby's lines were fantastic. Len thoroughly enjoyed it. Bruno thought he was a performer. Total=43

Victor Ortiz and Lindsay Arnold - Jive - 6/6/6=18 - better technically, still a little tentative I think. Great smile! Len thought it could have been sharper. Bruno thought his "bom" was sticking out. Carrie Ann accidentally banged her head on the table. Hmm. Total=36.

Wynonna Judd and Tony Dovolani - Quickstep - 6/6/6=18 - dressed as cops from a 70s revue and entering on some very slow scooters. Went down from there. Bruno admired her assets. Carrie Ann thought they were "on the right track". Len didn't think they got out of first gear. Total=36.

Zendaya Coleman and Val Chmerkovskiy - Jive - 9/8/9=26 - Zendaya doesn't seem to be an expert in heels. She can dance though. Excellent jive - both performance and choreography. Wow said Carrie Ann. Fantastic said Len. "A star is born" expressed Bruno. Total=50.

Andy Dick and Sharna Burgess - Jazz - 7/6/7=20 - he actually got the steps down, was dressed as the Mad Hatter and was a trifle manic. Same old Andy! Fun performance! Len said he didn't know what to say. Bruno loved it. Carrie said things like wacko and demented. Total=37.

Sean Lowe and Peta Murgatroyd - Jive - 7/6/7=20 - it was OK. Not as aggressive as last week but he followed the steps better. Sean was dressed as a life guard, Bruno wanted to be saved. Solid said Carrie Ann. Len didn't get it at all. Eric Roberts shouted out that Len was grumpy. Duh. Total = 39.

Alexandra Raisman and Mark Ballas - Quickstep. - 8/8/8 = 24 - excellent. Best quickstep of the night said Carrie Ann. Len thought it was terrific. Bruno waxed poetic. Total = 45.

Lisa Vanderpump and Gleb Savchenko - jive -6/6/6=18 - fun dance, concentrated on Gleb rather than Lisa. Although it was borderline sexist - a pilot feeling up an air stewardess. Len thought it was a bit stiff. Bruno waved his hands. Not sure what Carrie Ann said. Total = 36

DL Hughley and Cheryl Burke - Quickstep - 5/5/6=16 - MUCH better than last week. Still can't dance though. Bruno could see he worked hard. Carrie Ann thought he was on the right track. Len said he was better than last week. Total = 28

Kellie Pickler and Derek Hough - Jazz - 9/8/9=26 - fantastic choreography. Kellie did so well. Carrie Ann said Kellie was a dancer. Len was relatively effusive. Bruno just was. Total = 47

Well even though he was much better than last week DL must be the overwhelming favorite to be eliminated.

We'll find out tomorrow on the results show which has Josh Groban and other goodies!

Live from Dancing with the Stars Season 16!

Well, from my living room.

With the TV on.

Nice to get back into the grove of a regular season! A good group of celebrities, some new professionals. Life is good!

Kellie Pickler and Derek Hough - Cha Cha Cha - 7/7/7 = 21 - damn Kellie is good. Nice lines. bright smile. Yum yum said Len. The shapes of things to come said Bruno. Carrie Ann - incredible torso movement.

Victor Ortiz and Lindsay Arnold - Foxtrot - 6/6/6=18 - a little stiff but he's following instructions he has obviously memorized. Pretty good for the first week. All the judges said nice things apart from Len who thought it was a bit "uneventful".

Ingo Rademacher - Contemporary - 7/6/7=20 - lots of jumpin' abaht, but that's the style of dance. He was pretty good. Carrie Ann thought it was great, Len didn't like it at all, Bruno said it was good.

Lisa Vanderpump and Gleb Savchenko - 6/6/6=18 - good start, couple of missteps but ok. Gleb looked good. Len thought it was acceptable.

DL Hughley and Cheryl Burke - Cha Cha Cha - 4/4/4=12 - oh dear. Stiff as Mr McStiffy with arthritis. Bruno didn't know what to do with it. Yikes said Carrie Ann. Len thought it was rough. They were all very kind.

Zendaya and Valentin Chmerkovskiy - Contemporary - 8/8/8=24 - excellent. But then again, she is a dancer. Superb, great etc. etc. said the judges.

Sean Lowe and Peta Murgatroyd - Foxtrot - 7/6/6=19 - good for week 1, some nice enthusiasm. Len thought it was OK, Bruno liked it but thought it was a bit rough, Carrie Ann said she likes it rough. Sigh.

Aly Raisman and Mark Ballas - Cha Cha Cha - 7/7/7=21 - gosh, I hate fringes. Alexandra was very good, couple of missteps but great potential. Judges liked.

Dorothy Hamill and Tristan MacManus - Contemporary - xx - I don't like contemporary, it doesn't fit. So this was ok, arms needed work. Judges loved it - shows what I know!

Wynonna Judd and Tony Dovolani - Cha Cha Cha - 6/6/6=18 - better than DL. Could be fun if she goes further and dances a bit. Judges thought it was OK.

Andy Dick and Sharna Burgess - Foxtrot - 6/5/6=17 - my favorite of the night. High on performance, not so high on skill. Bruno enjoyed it. It touched Carrie Ann. Len thought it was as smooth as Robocop.

Jacoby Jones and Karina Smirnoff - Cha Cha Cha - 7/6/7=20 - the man can dance. And perform. "A medley of touchdown dances" - Carrie Ann. Len didn't like it. Bruno did.

No elimination this week. The scores get added to next week's and someone goes home next Tuesday

Lindsay Lohan Turns Down DWTS

TMZ is reporting that Lindsay Lohan has rejected a massive offer from DTWS because "she doesn't want to do reality TV and wants to stick to films".

Lindsay (and her mother for that matter) has been a perennial rumor for DWTS.

It would attract controversy but I'm not sure she would do too well as she doesnt have an obvious voting base other than her fans.
