Week 5 Results – Will Bristol Hold On?

Last night was TV night on Dancing with the Stars. To get over the normal mid-season slump in viewers the producers seem to be trying even harder this season to spice things up. Theme nights are a good way to make things interesting, but the judges, particularly Len, seem to (sub-consciously) object to the consequences of the themes. So when someone dresses up in a monkey suit, or plays out a story it seems a bit disingenuous to complain that they're "messing about". Having said that, they were very gentle with Bristol after the monkey suit debacle.

So, Bristol was at the bottom of the leader board, but how close is it? Here is the share of the judges' votes for each couple:

Brandy and Maksim Chmerkovskiy

14.8%

Jennifer Grey and Derek Hough

13.7%

Rick Fox and Cheryl Burke

13.2%

Kurt Warner and Anna Trebunskaya

13.2%

Audrina Patridge and Tony Dovolani

12.6%

Florence Henderson and Corky Ballas

11.5%

Kyle Massey and Lacey Schwimmer

11.0%

Bristol Palin and Mark Ballas

9.9%

In order to be safe, Bristol needs to get more that 1.1 percentage points than Kyle or 1.6 points more than Florence. Up to now all the couples that have left this season have had the lowest judges' score, which doesn't look good for her.

Tonight , Jason Derulo will perform his platinum single "In My Head" and Shakira will be performing her single "Loca".

  1. The bias by the judges for and against some couples was evident and embarassing this week. They seem to be kissing Maks' butt for grief they have given him in past seasons. Brandy and Maks were disjointed through the whole first half of the dance and got 9's? What does Carrie Ann have against Tony and Audrina? They do everything the judges ask and only get 8's? No she wasn't dead! Audrina was connected to Tony as she is supposed to be in a Rumba! Carrie Ann docks Tony and Audrina, but lets Cheryl get away with her feet dangling like a rag doll 8 inches off the ground! Florence can do no wrong, Kyle can do no right! Judge fairly. If you're going to judge one couple easy, just ALL couples easy! One hard and detailed, ALL hard and detailed. STOP with the favoritism!
